President Trump congratulated U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) forces for a successful airstrike in Syria that killed a senior al-Qaeda leader. The operation targeted a high-ranking finance and logistics official of Hurras al-Din, an al-Qaeda affiliate. This airstrike is part of CENTCOM's ongoing efforts to disrupt and degrade terrorist operations threatening the U.S., its allies, and partners. CENTCOM Commander Gen. Michael Kurilla affirmed their commitment to relentlessly pursue terrorists to defend the homeland and allied personnel in the region. This marks the fifth such airstrike under Trump's administration, with previous operations mainly targeting ISIS in Iraq and Hurras al-Din in Syria.
