Noland Arbaugh, paralyzed from a diving accident, became the first human recipient of Elon Musk's Neuralink brain implant. This device enables him to control digital devices using his thoughts, significantly enhancing his quality of life. Arbaugh demonstrated the implant's capabilities by playing online chess and controlling music with his mind. However, he experienced complications, with up to 85% of the implant's threads retracting, leading to decreased functionality. Despite these challenges, software updates have partially restored the implant's effectiveness, highlighting both the potential and limitations of current brain-computer interface technology.
